“Best Traditional Newcomers 2003” - Irish Music Magazine
Téada is a traditional band that shares a deep passion for a traditional approach to Irish music and this is the reason they have a worldwide popularity appearing as a frequent headliner at major music festivals throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Africa, Russia, Israel and Australia since opening for Sharon Shannon band at Dublin’s Celtic Flame Festival in 2001. Their self-titled debut CD in 2002 brought popular and critical raves, with THE IRISH TIMES applauding the band for “//keeping the traditional flag flying at full mast//.”
Highlights of their career include a 30,000-capacity stadium concert in Brittany, along with performances at Rainforest World Music Festival & Penang World Music Festival in Malaysia, Edmonton Folk Festival in Canada, Harare International Festival of the Arts in Zimbabwe and World Music Festival Taiwan. In 2014 the band performed to 40,000 people during an extensive 7-week tour of Japan / Taiwan.
Notable festival appearances in 2023 include Savannah Music Festival, Montana Folk Festival, Festival Interceltique de Lorient (Brittany) and Irish Festival of Oulu (Finland).
